Oooph. I was afraid of that as my yard is too big for a push reel mower (at least one I can afford). I am hoping someone can offer some insight on a decent ZTR suitable for cutting Bermuda.
i cut my bermuda with a 52" gravley and it looks great. i start relativly low for a ztr then raise it every month during the summer by one notch and usually finish the summer at about 3".
i think start at ab1.5" or 2" mostly because i have some washout areas in my yard that cause it to not be super flat. i plan on addressing that with sand this spring.

Interesting thread.
The St.Augustine in my backyard is half dead, and half really dead.
After the snowfall, I cleaned up the snow from half of my yard for the dogs to do their business. The unfortunate side effect was that this exposed the turf to that 8F low we had. Now that the snow has melted from the other half of my yard, it's clearly visible that there is plenty of green on the side that was snow covered. The exposed side is horrible looking. Will be interesting to see how it bounces back, or if it does.
