Thinking about fixing a star in my windshield today rather than taking it by someplace Monday. Anyone had good results with a windshield repair kit that can be bought at Autozone, WalMart, etc?

Permatex Windshield Repair

I've used this a couple of times and had good luck with it. It takes some time but follow the directions for good results.

A glass repair shop owner told me 1.5 years ago that any perceived benefit from a star repair (he was turning down taking my money) would be merely coincidental. If it's gonna spread, then it's gonna spread.

Dunno if he just didn't want to fool with it or what (it was out of town and he knew I was from out of town, so it's not like he was wanting the eventual replacement job).

The star is identical 1.5 years later w no repair.
