I've gotten good at using my trimmer as an edger but I would like to get an edger one day so I can stop replacing the string as often.

It doesn't bother me with the speed feed heads. 30 seconds and I have a fresh 15 ft of string.

Well, every other weekend my yard likes to try and grow out onto the sidewalk so I have to edge every time I mow.

I edge every time I cut. Again, once you get used to the trimmer for a normal yard, it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do your entire yard.

I mean, by all means do what you want obviously. I was just trying to save a dime.

I bought a Stihl blower and weed eater when I bought my house. I wanted to by a Stihl edger, but they didn't make a battery powered one. So I had to buy the Ryobi. I love my Stihl products.
