Mainly just upstairs. We have a baby coming next spring and I need to get it in order.
Every few weeks I’ll go around our house and new nests have popped up where I’ve killed them in the past. Mainly in corners of roof and eaves. But how are they getting inside? Should I just caulk every cranny I see from the outside? Nuke the attic?

Leave the nests where they are once you spray to kill. They don’t make new nests if it appears another is near.

There are generics but Talstar solved my wasp problem on my eves, cedar deck and fences. You got to upkeep though.

Attic vents, exhaust fans. All means of entrance.

in addition to the other comments

wasps dont like pine smell so mix pine-sol and water 50/50 and spray the shite out of the entire attic and upstairs too.

i use it in my boat, lawn mower shed, and garage all the time because wasps leave when its fresh pine smell everywhere
