Want to make a bar top using old beer bottle caps....

what is the best way to flatten them?

Probably trying to get by using less epoxy to make the top level.

As for flattening them OP can try to do this in a vise with wood blocks over the metal jaws to keep from marring the bottle tops too badly.

Personally, if I were doing this, I'd just leave them alone and just use more epoxy to finish the top.

Ya, I have a buddy that made a bar like this, he didnt flatten them. Came out super nice. Ill see if he can send me a picture.

Glue down the caps or they'll float when you pour the epoxy

I have a very cool piece of wall art, a fish made of beer bottle caps LOL. They are all flattened into scales.

I bet if you smashed them with a press between two pieces of wood it would go pretty fast you can do a bunch at once

This is the correct answer.

That would suck to have 1,000 bottle caps epoxied and one just decides to pop up
