I think I have one, maybe more. Raised small burrow paths along house, driveway, sidewalk. I have a trap set, we'll see. What else should I do, apart from going the cat that swings around here sometimes gets it done? Stomp and smash all burrows, I guess. This doesn't happen most of the year when my yard is hard as a rock, it's been raining a ton.

Sounds like moles…I have them as well. I got some things that link like flares that will poison them. I have never had any luck with the traps. I think the poison peanuts/earthworms work too.

Voles don't have raised burrows, so the way you describe it sounds like a mole.

Voles will have multiple openings (1-2 inch diameter) with bare ground runs coming from it.

What about a chipmunk? When I had moles at our last place the trails were a lot bigger than this. Either way I hope it likes peanut butter. I caught a chipmunk and relocated it last year this way. There is also a bunny under there, but he's not burrowing.

If there are things they don't like to smell or that scare them away, other than the neighbor's dogs and the roaming cat, I'll employ multiple tactics.

Chipmunk's have something very similar (slightly bigger opening) , but they end up digging up the area a lot more. Voles just have openings spread out.

Update no one was waiting for: 1 chipmunk relocated and I think I have caught and released the same dumb bird 5 times. Will leave it out another couple of days in case other rodents want to play.
