Moving into a a house with it already installed and they're offering to pay out the $400 they owe and take it over. Has the automation and everything. Trying to decide.

You can sign a month to month contract with them to see if you like it. You won't owe anything on equipment.

That's what I am thinking about doing. Trying the demo for the app this morning. Seems alright to me? I have heard the war stories about the sales and contract side. But it seems like we don't have to worry about that.

I have vivint on my current house that we close on July 11. My new house will be closing July 20th and it will not have vivint in it. Nothing against vivint as I have had no complaints. However, the do it yourself options look better.

I mentioned to the sales guy that came by yesterday that once my ADT contract was up, I was planning on going the DIY route. His retort to that was that DIY systems are easy to hack since they're cheap, while Vivint has never been hacked. Pretty sure I'll take my chances anyway lol

Their salesmen are the worst.

Yes. I wouldn't call it as "high-tech" as some others but it was very easy DIY install, works great at all times, great customer service anytime I have an issue, and they have all of the equipment most would need. Its also very very affordable equipment wise and the monitoring is month to month.
