Under Deck Ceiling

Anyone done this themselves? I watched a couple of YouTubes over the weekend and it doesn't look that difficult as long as you slope it right so the water runs off. Measured and priced it out and materials for my deck would only be $350-ish. Imagine a contractor would charge around a grand on top of that.
Tip/tricks? I plan on running gutter to one corner and a downspout to an area off the deck that runs to a waste/collection area.

I need to do this for my boathouse. I have a deck above the boat lift. I was considering just using some corrugated plastic roofing panels.

Wife has been on me all year to do it so it'd be done in time for football season. Gonna miss that deadline since I'll be out of town this weekend.
