I just bought a house. Do I need a termite contract now or can it wait until the spring?
Thank you in advance.

Get it immediately, speaking from experience.

A lot depends on whether the previous owner have a termite contract and when was the last "clean" inspection by that company?
If you use a different company, they will not cover prior damage.
Approach prior company and seek a better price for renewing with them.
If you are in the Gulf South where termite damage claims have been increasing, the insurance aspects of contracts makes comparing services complex.

Got news for ya, termite contracts don’t cover damages. They only pay to re-treat the house to get rid of the termites if their treatment failed. It’s really a scam…
