So I’m looking at purchasing an electric tankless water heater. Does any Juan here have any experience good or bad? I’m all ears

There was a thread on this a week or so ago
I have a rinnai one came with the house. Very nice. I flush it once a year if I remember. North Texas water is not that bad.
I can adjust the temps pretty easy but have only done it once

How many kW? That's really the only downside to electric units is that they pull a lot of electricity when running, requiring multiple 30- , 40-, or 50-amp circuits to run unless a smaller POU type unit. Last one I did was a 12kW unit for a small rental house that needed only one 50A circuit but it really hummed when the demand was high enough.

Not sure of the Kw but I’m looking at replacing a 40 to 50 gallon tank that services a 2 bath home. What would you recommend? Main reason I’m wanting to swap it out is for the sake of room.

That's a tough question as sizing depends on peak usage, water temperature delta required, and where the unit is located relative to where the peak hot water demand is (usually the master bathroom). Replacing a 50 gallon tank, probably about 6 - 8 GPM capacity so a equally capable electric tankless would be 24 - 28 kW range.

I am looking for a natural gas one for my outside kitchen. Mostly will be used to wash dishes. Would a cheap one off of amazon work for this?

I wouldn't risk it, a decent brand name one isn't that much and you'll probably want one with decent freeze protection and a fast response. Even a smaller, outdoor rated NG tankless unit will be much larger than a small electric tankless for point-of-use usage, which is what your situation really calls for unless the electrical service in your outdoor kitchen can't be massaged.

I used an EZ Tankless to run a hunting camp, would probably work well for an outdoor kitchen

I'm not Juan, but I used to have a Rinnai brand. Only problem that I ever had was the inline filter got clogged not long after installing in a newly built house. Cleaned it out and was fine after that.
