Whole house is cement flooring. Need to scrub a couple hundred sq ft of high traffic areas. We bought a small home steam cleaner that uses cloth pads but it doesn’t work well. Pads get dirty quick and then it just moves dirt around even with a bunch of add’l pads.

Ideally would rent something like a carpet cleaner that sucks up dirty water. Home Depot rents RugDoctors but they say it shouldn’t be used on hard flooring.

Any recommendations for good cleaners to buy? Can rental carpet cleaners really not be used on hard flooring?

This is what I use for grout and tile. Should be fine on cement.

LINK

Edit: Use a mop to clean up excess water.

Does it only come with that small wand attachment? I was looking at it but am thinking it would take forever for larger areas.

Looked at commercial type equipment too. One of the main areas that needs cleaning is the kitchen with an island. Looks tight for something like that. Buffer could be better than where we’re at now though.

There's an attachment which is about 12 inches wide. Not huge but the machine puts out plenty of steam to make work easy.

You can rent a commercial floor maintainer from united or here. Basically sprays water/cleaner, scubs with a big pad, then vacuum and squeegees the water
