I have seemingly lost control of my yard and it looks like more weeds than grass. I said last year I was going to spray atrazine and attempt to get it under control but my neighbor has put in a pond and filled it with fish. So I guess that’s out.

I have about 2 acres, between clover, little yellow flowers and dollar weed. Also something that looks like dollar weed but it’s jagged and not waxy looking.

When is the right time to cut short and dethatch? And what would you recommend to spray within 40’ of a pond?

Most herbicides suggest 3-10 feet away from a pond. It’s called the ring of responsibility. The cleggs mix is a good choice. So is trimec. Don’t scalp or dethatch St Aug.

Thanks. How much time would I need between spraying and the rain? I wanted to spray tomorrow or monday but looks like rain tuesday and cold temps the end of the week.

Depends on what you spray. I don’t use cleggs mix so I can’t speak directly to that. Usually they are rain fast in a few hours.
