Sprinkler Setup You Might Want to Try

Hey guys. I recently built a new house and the sod is coming in which leads to a lot of watering. I do not have a sprinkler system in the budget right now but will eventually because I have a very big front yard.

Until then I sort of created a sprinkler hack that I figured you all might want to try out. This setup covers a lot more ground than a standard sprinkler you get at a big box store and I am extremely satisfied with it so far. I have modified two sprinklers this way and they cover my entire front yard with a manual move here and there.

The removal of the original sprinkler head is very easy with a wrench or pair of pliers. Full set up will run you about $70.

I purchased the Orbit tripod sprinkler:

The Orbit 1/2 in x 3/4 in male to male pipe adapter:

and the Orbit Voyager 2 sprinkler head:

Connected all of these and got this:

We used to build them with a square base; kindof like this.

What's the spray range and pattern on this set up and is it affected by winds since it is elevated?
