Spectracide Termite Spikes

So I put these spikes all around my house as directed. They have a “pop up” indicator on them. After a few weeks, they are starting to pop up. Of the 20 stations, 6 have popped up, indicating termites have eaten most of the bait.
I checked and replaced them and for a couple of reasons, I really do not believe I have termites on my property.
Has anyone used these and what has your experience been?

its hard to know for sure until you know for sure, but i guess wood ants could be eating all that bait

Yes. I use them out in the wooded part of my property. The reason - I've had 5 trees snap or blow over in storms and they all had active termite damage. The last large tulip poplar came within inches of my house. My house is more at risk of a termite damaged falling tree, IMO. The way I figure, I should go on the offensive and put stakes out in the woods instead of only playing defense with the stakes around my house. I probably put 50 of them out. When they pop up, pull the stake out immediately to see if there's termites on it. When you replace them don't use the same hole in the ground, move it over a few feet and drill another hole. I don't always see termites after the orange part pops up though. There will be other bugs get in there.
I have a professional bait system around my house already serviced by Cooks.

I used the same type of spikes and 6 of mine popped up all within two weeks.
So I brought in a termite guy and he said they were a crappy indicator and that seasonal changes can make them eject the indicator. Also, he found no termite evidence.

Mine pop up and it seems like earth worms or ants are always in them. Maybe they would work against termites, maybe I’m pissing my money away.

They do pop up easy. Wet weather will dissolve the bait and ants also eat them. When the indicator pops up pull it out of the ground take it to some clean concrete or some clean surface. Tap it out on the concrete. If it's termites you will see them. Ants as well.
