I have soffit lights, come at me!

I think anywhere you can do landscape lighting that is what should be done. For areas where that is not possible such as driveways, concrete areas, or for a shop then I think tasteful sofft lighting looks great especially if you have them on a dimmer and even better if you have them on a smart switch for scheduling.

I installed soffit lighting on the back of my house. 4” shallow mount with 3 different settings for brightness.
I would not put them on the front of my house.
Going from spotlights to can lights had an unexpected side effect. They don’t draw many bugs. I imagine it’s because you don’t actually see the light source.
I installed them myself using a rotary cutting tool to make the holes and a furring strip to pull/push the wire across.
