I lost a live oak last year so my front yard consists of half lawn and half mulch. Can anyone recommend someone to come remove the mulch and prep the yard so I can sod it?? I'm in Baton Rouge FWIW.

Do you mean you do the sod or pay someone else to lay the sod? It would be odd to pay someone to prep and you lay, as opposed to just paying a company to prep AND lay the sod.

I don't have any specific recs, I'm simply saying and landscaper can prep and lay sod. You are going to want to remove as much mulch as possible and probably put down some dirt. And level as much as possible.

Do you have a sprinkler system?

Yeah I was trying to save some cash and lay it myself but I might just get a landscaper to do the complete job. FYI I do not have a sprinkler system.

Prepping is not that bad honestly, you can just remove as much of the mulch as possible, get some dirt dropped on top, level it out with a rake, and lay some sod. You can get a lot more complicated then that, but with the right amount of water that'll get it done.

Can't see that you'd save much cash by paying for the prep and DIYing the sod placement. The bulk of the work is the prep.
