All 6 of mine went nuts earlier with 3 chirps, which according to First Alert is a malfunction. Bought all new ones, and they are fine. Except the Carbon Monoxide one, as soon as i plug it in it goes fricking nuts with 3 beeps(smoke alarm). There's no smoke in my house, and the CO warning is supposed to be 4 beeps. WTF am i doing wrong here?

Usually they talk to each other by sending +9 on the red wire so the first thing you did wrong was replacing them all of them.
I’m confused though. The last one isn’t making them all beep?

All the "smoke detectors" are fine. Only when i plug in the last one which is CO as well, shite goes nuts. But according to the back it's signaling smoke and not CO.

Maybe you are right, they might not all be bad(house built in 2015, so they are all 10 years at this point) but they all started chirping at the same time. I didn't know which one to replace.

**edit - when i plug in the CO + smoke one, it makes them all beep for smoke(3 long beeps)

Thanks for the response, i can't test it very well but if i plug the battery in the red light keeps flashing and it will go off even holding outside of the door. Maybe the stupid thing is just broken. It's 9:28 so i'm hesitant to test it too much, i have poor neighbors.

Sounds like co is faulty or there is smoke there. The signal is a simple +9 so there isn’t a possible wiring fault or anything that could cause it to signal the rest.
Edit: do make sure black is hot, white is neutral, and red is signal. I can’t imagine there would be different plugs or anything tied to safety but home builders could have messed it up and forced the old one on backwards or something.
Summary:
Compatibility issue is impossible.
Wiring is almost impossible.
Faulty detector 50%
Smoke 50%

Definitely not smoke in here, i think this thing is just broke. As a child of the 80's, in the last 20 years it's just so rare to have something not working out of the box. My house unfortunately isn't big enough to have smoke it in without every alarm going off :(

Thanks for the help man, so weird, and so annoying. Freaking Rausch Coleman home, it's amazing it's still standing.

Many detectors have a 10 year life, and some may go off after 10 years to signal its time to replace.

Not sure why the new one is going off. Maybe try to return/exchange it in case it’s a dud.

Check the instructions for pairing. You may just need to sync them all.
