I put a little twin sleeper chair thing in the den.

It’s my subtle way of telling an extra guest they’re probably better off getting a hotel room.

I can’t really say anything that has not already been said. I have had my sleeper sofa for about 15 years, and I’ll bet I can count the number of times it has been slept on one hand. Kids get a kick out of sleeping on it, but I wouldn’t want an adult to have to sleep on it for very many nights. It has probably paid for itself, though. It is easily better than an air mattress.

As someone else said, it is totally situational. I don’t think you would have any strong regrets one way or the other no matter what you choose.

our house is tiny and only has two bedrooms…we got a day bed that fits a twin size mattress for occasional guests. 99% of the time the dogs use it but it does come in handy. It’s also comfortable to sit on
