I am looking to purchase a Scag Freedom Z over a Gravely ZT XL. Has anyone have any experience with Scag mowers?

Some of my family in AL have them. They cut lots of grass and seem to like them. They also do all the maintenance that some people don't do, or put off, and i am sure that helps a lot.

Just bought a used Gravely ProTurn 48 with 110 hours. Paid $3600.

The guy I bought it from had both a Scag and this Gravely. He said the Scag was a beast and had 900 hours on it.

I asked him which he preferred and he said Gravely. He said it much easier to handle, very smooth.

Just sold my Dixon and love the Gravely.

I am a Gravely fan, used to cut with the old model L series I think when I was a kid...what a beast. The first one I owned was a Gravely ZTR, switched to Hustler after 11 years. 5 years on the Hustler, much better machine IMO.
