Rolls of grass, has anyone used these?

I like the looks of it and its affordable compared to sod. Hmmmm, probably need to have to have a really nice, well prepped base to get the most out of it.

Man, that looks very expensive to me. You could easily just buy a bag of seed and a bale of hay at the feed store and have the same thing. Be warned though, grass seed is pretty hard to grow.

We tried it. It did initially grow, but didn’t last. But it may have been due to other circumstances (last summers drought and our dogs kept finding their way into the temp fence we used to cordon it off.)

If you have a large bare area, prep it and get someone to hydroseed it.
Prep will essentially be the same to roll those mats out on.
If it's a smaller bare area, just use seed.
If you have an existing, spreading lawn of any type with small bare areas, you can try plugs from your own yard and seed.
