Revitalization prep for lawn?

Centipede. Some bad areas resulting from late Spring freeze and summer drought. Thinning spots look bare-ish.
Any steps to take to try and revitalize bad areas for next year?

Probably just cut out the bad spots and re sod come spring time. Don’t think centipede will come back that quick.
