I can't remember the first brand I bought, but never had problems with molding/rotting, and the birds loved it. The last few brands I've been through, it starts to mold and rot after a couple weeks and the birds don't like it as much.

Any recommendations?

I've found with suet especially that buying from a specialty place like Wild Birds Unlimited makes a difference. I just stopped buying it from any of the big box joints. There's also a decent feed snd seed store near me that carries good stock that doesn't seem to sit around. I don't have a brand right now, though.

I get mine by the box from Tractor Supply. Lots of bird activity and easy to manage. Not messy at all.

I've never had any problems with the no melt suet from C&S. I've also bought Suet Plus and they are good too. Our feeder has three different suet containers. The square, ball, and mini ball ones. I bought a bulk bag for the mini balls, but I use C&S for the larger suet balls, and C&S for the suet square cakes.

How about a seed cake? I use the one with dried mealworms, seeds, etc. and capsaicin oil ( Mr Bird’s Flaming Hot Feast) so the squirrels won’t eat it.

Heath Almond Woodpecker suet is what we buy via Amazon. LINK
But if your suet lasts more than a couple of days, something is wrong. Put out less or change types/brands.
Our suet disappears in a day or two and birds swarm it.
