Pool Tile Repair

At the water line of our pool we have a row of 3x3 tiles. One of them fell off. To replace it do I need special materials specific to pool tiles or can I simply lower the water level and treat it like a shower?

We just had some work done on our pool. They used hydraulic cement on the tile. It was out of the water but I’d think that you would have to lower the water.

Lower water level, make sure to clean up and/or scape the old mortar areas clean, then trowel on new mortar and set tiles. You might need some spacers/shims and some blue tape to hold them in place while they set for a couple hours. Dampen the back of the tile as well before you set them. While you’re at it, go check all the other tiles around the water line as well.
