Anyone else’s persimmon dropped more fruit that usual this year? Used to it dropping a few but I think I’m down to maybe 3 fruit. It’s a young tree but we harvested about 10 the last two years. Not sure what’s going on this year. Otherwise looks healthy.

Mine did this this last year. I read that it's not uncommon for trees less than 5 years to do this. Mine is 5 this year.

mine Flowers prolifically and drops all fruit. It is about 8 years old and have never gotten a Persimmon! I am considering getting a stick of scion from a male tree and grafting it on. I am wondering if it is a lack of pollination that is my problem, though before falling, the Flowers appear to be producing young fruit

Mine dropped quite a few. It’s normal for them to drop when the tree is young, but I think the rain made it a little worse this year.

Do you have a native persimmon or an oriental variety?

Mine puts on massive amounts of fruit every year, then a lot drop off. I read somewhere if you fertilize too much they will drop fruit. So this year, no fertilizer at all.

Ahhhh fertilized this year and didn’t in the past!!!! Never again!!!! I’m learning persimmon are very low maintenance. Made it through the snow fine.

This spring seems to be the most aggressive growing season I have ever seen....grass, trees, flowers, etc are as healthy as can be.
I don't understand it, prolly the perfect amount of temp, water, and sunshine?
