Outer parts of fridge/freezer hot to touch.

Our Frigidaire fridge/freezer feels hot on the exterior today, particularly across the vertical partition where the fridge and freezer meet.
Is this normal, and we’ve just never noticed before? I read that if the fridge had been open for a bit, this could be the case. That would make sense, as we stocked it today and the door was open for a bit.
Might dirty coils underneath be the culprit? There was enough cat fur down there to make a new pet. I vacuumed it the best I could.
Any ideas about a kitchen fridge/freezer feeling hot on the outside?

I don't have that brand but when mine did the same thing, I vacuumed and cleaned the coils. It solved the issue.

Put a thermometer inside and see if both the freezer and the fridge hold appropriate temperature. Other than that, there’s not much that you can do. I suspect that your freezer just went through its defrost cycle, so it should be fine after a bit.

When mine did that the fan had gone out. It was a fairly easy fix that I did myself.

Not sure if that’s my issue yet, but how did you repair the fan?
Was the interior of the fridge and freezer still cooling very well when that happened? Mine are both still cold inside.
I’m going to pull the fridge out and look behind the back panel, today. We experienced a 10 hour loss of power recently, for what it’s worth.

Thanks for the tips. I gave the entire compartment a good vacuuming earlier today and the unit’s chilling like a big dog, now.
There was enough fuzz under the fridge to knit two sweaters.
