Mosquito Control

My family just got a camp right on Lake Ponchartrain. Even with a nice wind, the mosquitos are still pretty bad. It sits on about a half acre lot so plenty of yard space. Would a simple spray down of some of the cutter or off yard spray work to have at least a little control? Or is there something a little more hard core. I’m hoping this upcoming freeze knocks them out for awhile but I know later on in the year will be bad so having this information will still be useful

I lived in a place in Madisonville where the mosquitoes were worse than anything I'd ever had to deal with. I bought a fogger and used talstar. No mosquitoes for close to a month after a treatment.
It was nice being able to enjoy my back yard after I started that treatment.

As Way_South said, bifen or talstar sprayed all over the walls and structure around where y'all congregate outside will help for a while, along with fogging. Tiki torches with repellant fuel can also be effective barring strong wind. Note that mosquitoes hang out upside down mostly during the day, so keep that in mind when spraying. Get under stuff when you spray.
