perfect breeding grounds for black mold
nearly impossible to clean
even with leaving the door open to air out and wipe off it gets nasty.
anyone ever replace one ? easy or PITA?
anyone ever had success with a cleaning method?
Ive soaked paper towels in bleach and left stuffed in there overnight and that doesnt even get all of it...

Horrible design fail.
We got tired of the constant mildew smell in “clean” clothes. Gave up and hauled it out to the road and got a top-load.

I had one that came with a house I bought. I will never have a front load washer again.

anyone ever replace one
Had a Maytag compact front loading washer that I had to do a ton of work on. It's easy to replace, just a pain to take out/disassemble/replace. I forgot exactly how much had to be done, but it should be no more than taking off the glass door and unscrewing the locking mechanism. If you have to take the front panel off, it usually requires you to unscrew more from the top/back panels. Other than that, it's a simple swap.
I'll be honest, I don't get the hate for front loading washer/dryers. It's more energy efficient, gentler on your clothes, and a space saver if utilized properly.
Buy Affresh. Use once a month. It'll eliminate the smell. The black mold stain will not go away but your clothes won't be affected.
