I’ve been waiting to get the back half of my lot which is around a half acre leveled and regraded but of course it got delayed forever because of all the rains. I was planning on seeding Bermuda since it’s a fairly large area. Am I wrong in thinking that it’s probably too late to do that this year at this point and just waiting for spring or do you guys think there’s still enough time to pull it off? I just don’t want to be stuck with mud or completely weeds (I know weeds will always be there when seeding) all winter.

Where are you located?

The species makes the best growth where average daily temperatures are above 75°F. Optimum daytime temperature for bermudagrass is between 95° and 100°F.

I had my lot leveled last year in the fall and opted to scatter rye seeds down to hold me through the winter for when I was ready financially to buy sod. It worked well.
