Is it possible to get pet smells out of a rug?

I bought a very nice rug out of a very fancy house. I don't know how they lived with it but hesitate to bring it into my house since my dogs might think that is acceptable in my house.
Really plush Oriental rug. Just throw it on the curb? Or, try to find a commercial cleaner? Roughly 9x11 so not lightweight.

Spray an enzyme cleaner on it with a sprayer let it sit then use a carpet cleaner to extract it. Repeat as needed

Larger cities have businesses that specialize in rug cleaning. I would seek out someplace like that. We have one in central Mississippi

There's tons of videos dedicated to cleaning large rugs on the internet. They can take a lot of abuse in the cleaning process and from the looks of some of the rugs prior to cleaning, I probably would have just tossed them.
The professional cleaners use some pretty heavy duty scrubbing machines to get the ground in dirt out, along with LOTS of soap and water.
Some of the better cleaners have centrifugal machines that eliminate a lot of the water from the rug once washed and rinsed then they hang them to dry.
All that said, I've cleaned a few large, heavy rugs in my driveway over the years. I have a pressure washer that I will use with the widest angle spray nozzle and not getting it close to the rug itself to not damage it but still powerful enough to get deep dirt out.
I've used laundry detergent and a stiff bristle brush to scrub it since I have no heavy duty machines.
Luckily, I have a big back yard garden and will hang the rug over the top of my largest trellis to dry and it usually takes a few days in the sun to do so.

Piss AND poop smells, I'm not sure what I will do; probably try the enzyme cleaner on it.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
