Installing bathroom vent

We bought a home built in the mid 80s and it doesn’t have a vent in the master bath. There’s an existing ac duct, but that’s it. One of the walls is an exterior wall, so access isn’t an issue, I just have no experience with it.
DYI project or better to hire someone? Any have recs for someone in LC?

Cut out the drywall near a stud with the size of the vent. Drill hole through side of house, run duct out, install cover. That's pretty much it. The cover of the vent will handle the cut out.
Power is the biggest issue, will you try to run it off an existing switch?

I can't give any opinions on cutting a hole through an exterior wall but installing a vent fan is a piece of cake. They make units now where the box mounts directly to a stud and you can install everything else from the living space. The "guts" of the box are the fan itself and can be pulled out through the bottom. Makes for a very simple install.
If you have the electrical ability to run your circuit and connect the wires, you can handle the rest of this job.

If the house was built in the ‘80s it has likely got recessed lighting in the ceiling. I would just buy a vent with a light and try to put it in the same place as the existing light…you might be able to use existing wiring and switch. Now, the whole thing gets a lot more complicated in you want a vent with a heater. In that case, you will need to pull new wires from the breaker box to get the required current.
ETA: Iwould. Ent into the attic rather than have a vent on the side of the house.

Wait… are you talking about needing an AC vent or a vent like to suck the poop smell and moisture out of the bathroom?

Moisture. There’s currently no system in place to control moisture from the shower besides opening the window. I’m open to any suggestions, as wells

It’s easy, if it’s just the exhaust fan I’d tie it straight into the bathroom light. Buy the quietest you can find too.
You can just drill through the exterior wall if you have to.
I did my last one by just hooking the exhaust tube to a soffit vent instead of cutting a hole, so it’s covered by screen.
