They sell 4x8 PVC plastic sheets of "plywood" at Home Depot. Rip them in half for shelving. Its what I did in a pantry

While you have the sawr out, and some scraps, adding a 6" back to those shelves makes them much more pleasant to use. If they back up flat against a well then its not an issue but otherwise if you put backs on you won't have to hear Plinko when you accidentally push a can of spray paint off the back shelf.
