Yep thanks for the update. I agree, bet the first tech likely just misdiagnosed the low refrigerant charge for some reason, but with a 15 year old unit it’s probably a good time to be thinking and planning for replacement. I’m in the same boat - 15 year old R-22 system. That’s the average expected life in the Deep South.
