I did a deep clean on my GE Cafe fridge/freezer (freezer at bottom) yesterday and my dumbass did not unplug it while cleaning. Probably about an hour total with fridge doors open and maybe 20-30 minutes with freezer door open. About 4 hours later, my freezer was 25 degrees F and I noticed things were melting. I unplugged it for about 2 hours, plugged it back in. This morning, freezer is only at 9 degrees F.

Do I need to let it defrost longer?

Either your thermostat is bad or you're bad at reading numbers. 25 F and stuff is melting?

I would think it would take more than 30 min to defrost a freezer. As for the temperature…be sure the temperature is set correctly. Mine is digital and every time I unplug, I have to adjust to the proper setting (it reverts to some base setting)

Yea, popsicles and ice cream were melting. Ideal temp is 0 degrees F.

It was at 25, then overnight it dropped to 9?

Sounds like she's moving in the right direction.....

Roughly 16 hours running and only 16 degree drop? Seems long.
