We built our house 15 years ago. One of the things that I never really thought of during the construction was the windows. Because I didn't specify, I'm sure my builder put is builders grade windows. Now, 15 years later, they are a pain to open and close and I think I'll need new ones soon.

What should I be looking for when I replace my home windows?

I think its high time that you should replace your old Windows with a new one as they may get in contact with moisture and due to which you are not able to open them properly.

I went with Low-E, double pane, double hung vinyl when I had them changed recently. Looks good and pretty much no maintenance...reduced the interior sound also. Plus a lifetime replacement guarantee for breakage of any sort.
