Thinking about getting a hot tub. Are they easy to maintain? Anything I should know before I buy? How much the your electricity bill go up? Anything will be helpful. What brand to get and not to get? TIA!

My buddy just got one that's a 120v. We were both pretty skeptical. He averaged out the energy consumption and it shouldn't be more than $10/month (he lives out in Central).
Maintaining anything appliance that is constantly running water can be a PITA. Just keep it clean and covered when you do get one.
I'll report back later in the year because he got it and I haven't used it yet nor has there been a durability test on it.

Get a used one on Marketplace. I see some really nice ones going for cheap. People get them and then don't use them or want to do the maintenance and sell them for almost nothing sometimes. Saw a really nice one the other day for free if someone would just come get it.

What the guy above me said.
I got the inflatable one last year on Black Friday just to see if we would use it.
I do, my kids do sparingly, wife does not very often. I think she's afraid I'll try to make a move on her.
After the trial period, I'll keep the inflatable, it's not worth thousands for just me.
Coleman saluspa, works great and I can take it down in the summer.

Got a 450 gallon tub from CalSpa.
Wouldn’t do it again. Have had 3 leaks in less than one year. Would like them to just pick it up and give me my money back.

One thing I’ll add if you’re getting a nice tub. If you’re getting it from a dealer, look into their reviews on how their service is and make sure they plan to continue to sell the brand.
The dealer we purchased from was terrible to deal with when servicing our tub’s issues and then they stopped selling AND servicing the brand we purchased and pawned us off to a different dealer to handle service requests. Ridiculous imo. But the new dealer has been easier to work with.
