Neighbor was getting rid of nice metal French doors, I want to replace the hinges but the ones I bought at Hm Depot same size and shape but the holes don’t line. Checked Lowes same issue. Any suggestions besides redrilling holes ?

Take a set into a lumber yard and see what they have.
If they fit, just make new holes. That’s what I’d do.

They sell the hinges at Hm Depot and Lowe’s same size and shape, but only two of the 4 holes line up with existing holes. Figured these would be standard. Will I need to patch old metal holes?

Just wanting a different color or are they bad?
Can spray paint them if it is just a color change.
Shouldn't have to patch the other holes. Should just need to predrill holes for the new locations though. Caulking the old holes would prevent the chance of water getting in.

Easiest and best fix would be to fill the existing "off" holes with wood glue and push a wood chopstick in until tight. Let dry for a day, cut off and sand smooth. Drill the new holes (1/8 inch bit) and install the hinges.
Quick, easy, inexpensive and effective.
