Background: I have a Bermuda back yard and centipede (soon to be Bermuda front lawn)

The south side of my house, up against the house is always shaded and doesn’t grow any grass. An area of about 4’ x 10’ shaded by my patio is the same. What can I seed or what can I do to get something other than dirt and mud?

Mondo grass, dayflower, wood chips. Nandina scrubs. Hang a fern or two.
You could also quit using herbicides there and let nature fill it up.

put down a thick layer of shredded bark.
get a couple three trays of monkey grass and split each clump in half, plant in a random pattern.

keep watered thru the summer and but this time next year you should have a pretty well grown in patch that is pretty and maintenance free. If you walk thru that area a lot, put down some paving stones to step on

St Aug does good in the shade if cared for correctly.
