Grass creeping up brick wall

Grass is starting to take over on parts of our brick wall. Any suggestions on how kill it before it goes Any further?

I think you're past the creeping phase. I see no brick.


Weedeat the roots or wage chemical warfare. Either way you're gonna have dead vines to clean up off the brick.

Sorry, I didn't clarify. We like the vines and I trim it regularly so it looks nice. Grass is starting to take over the vines at the bottom in certain parts

Hard to maintain grass along what appears to be fig ivy. If it’s established you usually can weed eat right on the edge. Find the ivy root and it usually grows up and out. You can make the ivy start a little higher on the brick. You may kill some feeders but it will grow back. Hands and knees and pull the grass if you want.

Find something that kills it but not the ivy.

Trench in a little border like you use to separate flower beds from your lawn to keep the grass separated from the wall covering. You can then keep the grsss at bay by string trimming.

ETA:Or you can install a row of pavers.
