Have an older (15yrs) Kenmore Elite gas range that heats up to about 175F and holds it. Worked great yesterday during the day but whenever we turned it on to bake some cookies last night it just wouldn’t do its thing. Now I’m going to fight it before Christmas dinner…. Any advice?

You need to replace the thermocoupler. I have to do that on mine every 3 to 4 years. It's fairly easy to do.

I’m assuming that I won’t find a thermocoupler in a rural hardware store or Lowe’s/Home Depot?

RepairClinic or Appliancepartspros will ship it today and a lot of parts have an accompanying video showing how to replace.
