I see Oklahoma joe has one. Thoughts on those? Anything else in the 5-600 range worth looking at? Size is not of utmost importance.

Out of curiosity, why? I have a Bull that I grill on and just got a Z Grill to smoke on. Never wanted, nor tried doing both on one grill.

In theory it sounds good, but I think having two separate grills will give you better results. Although a Weber kettle with a SNS is really hard to beat for a combo grill without spending a lot of money.

I really enjoy my Pitboss pellet grill. Pretty good smoker and definitely can get hot enough to sear and cook a steak

I am seriously considering a Master built Gravity Series. It is auto fed charcoal which sounds like it would give a great combination of convenience, flavor and heat. I'm just not confident about the brand.
