Garden flooded.... how long do I wait before replanting?
Planted a row of okra, and 2 rows of beans about 10 days ago. Was already worried only about 5% have broken ground. Now that it completely flooded this weekend, and was underwater for about 6 hours I am very pessimistic about the rest coming up. I assume I have to let it dry out if I am to replant. Should I wait longer and give them more time, or replant?

I'd wait--6 hours underwater is nothing in the life of a plant. If anything, the prolonged soaking might encourage germination. Some seeds are soaked overnight before planting.

Agree. Give them more time before you make a decision.

What are the odds of your garden flooding again? If it’s in a low spot with poor drainage, you might want to rethink the location. Or do raised beds.

Six hours underwater is nothing, but we have had some funky arse weather the last couple weeks. Dig a couple up and see if they’re dead, but without any other info, I’d give it some time... Also, how deep did you plant and do you have a rotary hoe? If the seed isn’t dead, then you may want to let the ground crust over and run a rotary hoe to crumble the crust and make it a little easier for them to emerge.

as others said, its most likely they were just stunted and need time to bounce back.

let it ride and dont try to do anything to help them or that could further stress them

im betting in a week or two they bounce right back

My biggest fear would be they floated up and got swept away. I’d search an area that you planted larger seeds that should be easy to find and see if they are still there
