Garbage disposal on the blink

Making a loud popping noise that sounds like its coming from bottom of motor area of disposal. Nothing caught in upper part. Anyone have any ideas what it may be?

Try holding on to the blades and turning the switch on.

Have you tried running food down it?

There is a spot on the bottom of the unit where an allen key fits.
Find the allen key that came with it and see if it will turn.
