The outlet in my floor was loose. The tabs in the plastic gang circle box were broken. How do I repair, replace this to mount a new outlet? Can't find anything on the internet about repairing this. Do I have to chisel out this box?

seriously, sue your builder, that is against building code. plastic in a slab is illegal for the very reason you have now.

code requires only metal boxes be installed in the slab

you need to hammer a chisel to chip it out enough to replace it with metal box and then drill anchors into the slab to permanently secure it in place

Look in the bottom of the box and see if you can make out the manufacturer. You just need a new adapter ring and cover kit. Some brands are interchangeable others aren’t. If you can’t find it, A company called Arlington makes a universal adapter that works in most boxes.

some people even call them slab boxes, I’m baffled as to how someone can think they aren’t code

Ok are they readily available at Lowe's/HD? When I went all i found were fancy metal boxes.

It is Steel City.

It should be, but an electrical supply house would be more likely to have it.

I was brass. I got the 10 dollar plastic one from lowes and was able to get it in there after some persuasion. It is it tight in there and pretty flush. Good enough as a sofa is going over it now. If I need to get the actual one to fit, I'll text you.
