Just do zoysia. It will handle the shade and sun.

Thats what i want to do, just wasn’t sure about the success of seeding zoysia.

I would stick with common Bermuda if you’re going to seed. You likely already have some in your yard. But it will be quite a process to properly prepare for seeding on 1-2 acres of turf. Hope you have a lot of hoses and sprinklers.

I would just start treating it like a yard. Mow it down to 1-2 inches and spray out the bahai. Msm will work but celsius is a safer option for bahai. Start a pre emergent plan in the fall and spring. It’ll take a few years but the common Bermuda will take over.

It’s hard to even find Zoysia seed right now and it’s expensive. I’ve successfully grown zoysia from seed but it took 2 years to fill in and thicken up but it does look great. A pallet of zoysia here runs about $300. I often think the most budget friendly way to grow zoysia in a big yard is to lay a pallet of sod done up right in one area and sprig it over time into other areas of a yard. Once that zoysia got to growing good and healthy in my old yard it chocked pretty much everything out such as weeds.
