Fertilized prior to downpour

.Monday afternoon I laid my second fertilizer application of the season. I wanted it on so the rain could water it in.
Although we had about an inch that night I thought the rain was fine.
We got walloped with rain last night. Flooded areas at times.
Was that fertilizer application wasted?

Probably not. In most cases rain dissolves the fertilizer and it enters the soil. Now if the rain moved the granules off you lawn and into the street it is a different story but I doubt that happened.
