Electrical panel cover (Siemens)

My electrical panel cover was painted over (about a year and a half ago). It is incredibly difficult to open, even after taking a straight edge knife and cutting into the paint, and now the latch to keep the panel cover closed completely broke.
It's a Siemens. Can the cover simply be replaced, or it is a whole "kit" to buy so to speak?

Yes it can be replaced. See if you can find the part number on it and search for that. I replaced one last year.

Thank you, I will take a closer look. The electrical panel is approximately 17 years old, although I don't think much has changed over the years.

If there’s not a part number just take some measurements of the current panel and cross reference that with a “Siemens 20 breaker panel” or however many breakers you hold. Mine was pretty old too and found it pretty easily.
