Leaf miners
Yep
Neem oil is good for controlling them. You could also use a pyrethroid based insecticide.

Also, if just a few leaves, pull them off the plant and toss them in the trash, never in a compost pile.

Thank you guys.
I’ve always used Eight and have never had issues with this until this year.

Pulling the leaves off only damages the plant more due to less photosynthesis. Once the flies have laid the eggs and larvae has hatched the damage is done. Neem oil and then seven dust. Some years are worse than others in regards to leaf miners.

That's why my post reads 'IF JUST A FEW LEAVES, PULL THEM OFF"
I've had leaf miners over the years on cucumbers and pole beans and removed the leaves since I'm in my garden almost daily and catch this stuff early. With the amount of foliage on most climbers like cucumbers and beans, a few leaves aren't going to hurt the plant one bit.

Let me explain again. You can pull off a few leaves if that gives you peace of mind. It does nothing in eradicating leaf miners. The flies will continue to lay eggs unless you do preventative care. Pulling leaves isn't one of them. I specifically asked that question to an LSU Ag instructor and she stated removing leaves only damages the plant more. If it is a large plant then no you are right it won't hurt the plant, but its only makes the plant look "prettier"
