Me and the wife are interested in converting our 2 car garage into a little hangout area that feels more homey then garage-y. Anybody ever tackle a project like this. What are some do’s and dont’s? Things you’ve seen before that you like. We’re not ACing it or dropping lots of money. Still need some space on the side for tools and lawn equipment.

ETA we’re going to add a portable AC mounted on the wall!

If you aren't going to have AC you'll probably only want to hang out in there two months out of the year. Not sure if its worth losing the covered parking.

I am sure there are tons of pinterest threads with ideas. I would think just get a nice sized rug, a couch, fridge, ping pong table and a big arse fan.

We will have a portable AC. And possible insulate the garage door! We’ve been getting some ideas on there!

Did our garage years ago. Left about 6 ft area to store tools etc. Ran the ceiling low over the garage door tracks and put French Door in for access/exit to front.

Figure when get ready to sell will enclose the area where the TV is set up to make a closet.
