We just have bedrooms and upstairs hallways with engineered hardwood floors, downstairs is tile. Can a hard surface cleaner be used on engineered hardwood? We have that for tile and a cheap Amazon cordless vacuum for picking up small stuff downstairs that is occasionally used upstairs, but I feel like the cordless vacuum is as mentioned - cheap.

You don’t want to leave a bunch of water sitting on hardwood. I have used some alcohol-based stuff in a spray bottle that worked pretty well. Now I use Murphy oil soap in water with a regular mop and bucket. Wring the mop relatively dry.

Vacuum then use a slightly wet mop or Swiffer, as mentioned, Murphy’s is good, I prefer Bruce’s. Nice shine, no residual streaks.

Bona is what many flooring manufacturers recommend.
