Cross pollination does not impact the fruit of a tree, only the seeds produced by that tree. The fruit grows from the tree’s genetic matter. The tree’s flower is pollinated and the ovary/fruit uses the pollen to fertilize what becomes the seeds. So any cross pollination shows up in the next generation, the offspring....the seeds.

I would not let the suckers grow if I were you. It is taking away nutrients from the desired citrus and will eventually choke it out.

Removing the suckers now will let your tree develop faster than if you leave it alone.

Agree w previous poster, prune out the suckers growing from the rootstock. They make it much harder for the tree to produce quality fruit.

Looks like a well-groomed Owari Satsuma tree. I'd guess that it is at least 20 years old.

A lot of people make the mistake of picking them too soon. The satsumas probably won't be ripe until December.
